who we are

The owner, Mrs. Ann O’Connor Tempestini, was born and lived for 26 years in Australia. Apart from the passion that she shares with her husband for antiques and art, her main hobby is reproducing oil paintings – copies of Flemish still lifes and portraits of the C15th and C16th Italian period.

Mr. Tempestini has a Law degree but has always worked in textiles. His main hobbies are searching for antique furniture (of which he is a discreet connaisseur) antique books, materials and paintings.

The passion for antique materials is such that the owners have taken up a comercial activity dealing with construction of a new house or the restoral of an old one, using obviously recuparated material. Exclusive material which has come from demolition of antique villas, palaces, castles, farmhouses, churches etc. This material ranges from roofing with typical Tuscan cotto, to stones for externals, stone for doorways, arches etc. as well as diverse pavings in cotto, in stone or wood of various dimensions and measurements.

The property is less than 10 minutes from the Montecatini exit on the A11 highway.

Route 1

Leave the highway at the Montecatini Terme exit and take the first to the right and then to the right again in the direction of Monsummano Terme. Pass a set of traffic lights and after 300 mt turn left into Via Fonda. Proceed to a stop sign. There is the bridge over the higway on your right but turn left. At the next stop sign turn right and where the road widens take the road to your left uphill, called Via de’ Gobbi (this street sign os on the left and not immediately visible).
Follow this for 2 km and at the T junction turn left (there is a wayside chapel on the left) into Via del Vaticano. After 500 mts. There is a cross road and the Villa is on your left, the second black gate in Via Roncovisi, 40 on your right.

Route 2

If, on arrival, you prefer to go trough the town of Monsummano we suggest another route,a little longer but with a better and not so steep road.
Follow the directions as far as via Fonda of route n. 1 where, instead of turning left, you will continue straight ahead, passing under the “autostrada”. Continue for km 1,1 mt and pass the traffic lights. After 50 mts you are obliged to follow the road round to the right (via Mazzini). Follow Via Mazzini round behind the church and turn left into Piazza Giusti. Come out on the opposite side of the square and turn right into via Marconi .At the top of the rise turn left into via Gragnano and follow it to the end. Turn right up the hill (Monsummano Alto) for km1,8 until you arrive at a junction, turn left into via del Vaticano and follow the above instructions for the first option.
